Ralph Resendiz, 19, was charged with 1st degree felony injury on Friday, January 24 after his infant son was taken to the hospital with significant injuries.
Upon being treated at the Children’s Medical Center Dallas, physicians found that the infant suffered from a broken rib and multiple breaks in both of his legs. Apparently some of the injuries were over one week old.
Resendiz, of West Dallas, explained to authorities that the stress of parenthood and hallucinations caused him to use excessive force on his child. Resendiz admitted to having knowledge of his son’s injuries long before he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
